Everton’s 23-game away winless run against Arsenal (D4, L19) is their third longest run in their top-flight history against an opponent, after an ongoing 24-game run against Chelsea and 35-game run against Leeds United between 1946 and 2001.

I’m sure we beat Leeds 2-1 in a second division game around 1951 or 1952 at Leeds in the old second division with Davie Hickson getting one of the goals and possibly Eggo ( Tommy Eglington ) getting the other.

It'll be a good psychological test for our players.

For to long we've gone into away games against established opponents and been beaten before a ball is kicked. We've also flaked at the merest hint of success.

This Arsenal side are nothing special (and I honestly believe without their striker's would be struggling at the bottom). No reason at all we can't win this, and doing so could prove to be an important milestone.
