I've always felt that playing these so called bigger sides on the back of a defeat is a potential banana peel as they would be pumped up to turn it round.

But I always see the glass half empty with Everton

I was actually reasonably happy with the strengthening of the squad. Indicative of this is Demari Gray being the only outfield player starting the Derby who also started last season’s Goodison derby.

That's actually a huge deal. Lampard's done a praiseworthy amount of work to the squad in a short space of time.

A bench of Begovic, Coleman, Holgate, Vinagre, Davies, Allan, McNeil, Mills and Rondon for the next match isn't perfect, but it's a big improvement on last year.

Add to that we have Keane, Godfrey, Mina, Garner, Doucoure, Townsend and DCL all to rotate into the matchday squad when fit.

Arsenal are playing some very good stuff lately but I'm steadied by the thought that this Everton side will keep fighting to the last whistle.

Given the choice, I'd prefer a win. UTFT.
