The second tough game in a week sees us take a trip to the heart of bell-metropolis to play Arsenal.
This was as a game we were desperately unlucky not to win last year as a late goal off Lucas Neill's arse saw us denied in the snow, on Donovan's debut. Seems a lifetime ago that.
Most had the sense of disappointment after the Chelsea game as we should have just won it based on the play leaving us with a tough replay that not many want. It was another game this season where we turned up and had the better of one of the top clubs in the division, which bodes well for this game.
Apart from a spate of home victories a couple of years ago we don't do particularly well against Arsenal in recent times and have been on the receiving end of a few dry bummings. They're second in the league, have just reached the final of the Milk Cup and are formidable at their new home.
Wenger is a beaut and Fabregas a bad pube eyebrowed dolt but they have quality throughout the team. They play a possession game that means if you go one down you rarely get a result. Chamakh has the longest neck I've ever seen on a human, not unlike when your six year old nephew makes you a plasticine man and in a moment of anatomy awareness, attempts a neck. Saying that he's scored far more than our strikers have this season.
The return to 4-5-1 was a successful one and you'd expect more of this horse for courses for the remainder of the season. With Cahill due back some time soon it's at it's most effective in games like this. There would be certainly no reason to change any of the personnel that started against Chelsea though as we were comfortable even with Rodwell in an unorthodox position.
The emphasis will be on keeping it tight and Heitinga is justified in keeping the fit again Jagielka out of the team. Baines and Coleman have been producing some useful width where we might have some luck against Arsenal. Fellaini is on on them runs of performances that makes you think he won't be at EFC by his 25th birthday. Goals have been our glaring weakness all year so we'll need Saha to be looking arsed again for this.
Despite us stuttering a bit were unbeaten since getting rolled over by Stoke on New Years Day, not a bad achievement for a tough month of games but we still haven't got any real momentum. With the recent revolution spirit spreading direct from Tunisia to Cairo and then to the Park End there is a real need for Everton to string something together.
