You'd have to have been one hell of a devout Everton fan not to jump ship in that summer. We didn't spend a penny a brought in Jermaine Beckford on a free and Royston Drenthe and Denis Straqualursi on loan. We were a complete shambles and he had the chance to play for a champions league side.
