During my childhood, when the temperature dropped, my father used to refer to it being either "colder than a witch's tit" or "colder than a well-digger's arse."

It always seemed odd to me, in that we were in sunny California and it was rarely all that cold, so I guess he just liked talking tits and arse with his children.
 

"Saft as a bottle of pop" is a saying round here although can't see the link to pop, lol
Maybe a local saying for "mad as a box of frogs"
"mad as a box of frogs" a great saying but a rather strange and questionable one, I mean have you ever seen a load of frogs inside a box who had become somewhat looney as well? Hmm, come to think of it..🤔
 
A long while back a female named Sally, a member of the HR Dept. where I once worked, wanted me sacked because I told her "She was about as useful as an overcoat in a heatwave". When everyone started referring to her as "Sally Overcoat" she claimed it was causing her stress and anxiety which, of course, was my fault.
