Don't know why hat happened to him. He was linked with arsenal about 5 years ago, and at the time was a good cb.

Age, body conditioning and lack of it, plus I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is. Lastly he's been a bit of a coward for us at times allowing Keane or others to take the blame for his own mistakes. He's the opposite of Jags in terms of how he uses his experience. He's too selfish

Surely there is some chump of a club out there willing to take a punt on a collosal ex-international man mountain of a centre back (all of this may not be true). There must be some thick Turkish or Chinese club looking at him and thinking "he'd do a job in our league, let's get him in". Problem is the greedy get will want parity with his current wage, as if the millions in his bank account won't last him for the next 50 years of his life. Sickening seeing his routine pulling of his shirt over his head after yet another misplaced pass that leads to a goal. He needs to just go asap. Leave him on the pavement outside FInch Farm and hope somebody picks him up and puts him in their car boot.

Good to hear he is really impressing with his attitude this pre-season; wasn't expected to be involved for a while due to punctured lung recovery but Brands / Silva delighted to see him doing his best. Might be a surprise inclusion this season, who knows.

would rather drip lemon juice in my eyes for 4 hours a day then see this buffalo running round snapping people next season

if silva/brands keep him around and think he's a good option to have then they have already failed us

also, the fans hate him, they actually hate him, exactly the sort of player they should be trying to shift soon ( not saying they haven't tried )

Fan opinion isn't really that important is it mate, it's too polarised to make an informed decision.

If Brands and Silva rate him - and he's working hard - he should be given just as much a chance as Dowell, Lookman, Davies etc etc

disagree 100% mate

young players like lookman and dowell haven't been given a proper chance for everton to show if they are good enough wereas Williams has had 2 years worth of chance and shown almost everytime that he is completely useless ( more so last season than his first season ) but last season was that bad she should have been sacked when he went round elbowing players against lyon @ burnley

for someone so experienced his discipline is shocking, the fast that he has captained this club is an embarrassment, hope I never have the displeasure of going the match and seeing him involved ever again

To be fair, the whole last season was very toxic. It was a pretty rare - and not acceptable, sure - lack of professionalism from Williams, among with several other players. First season he was pretty good.

Surely we have to show grudging admiration for a guy who is after a second chance? We will be paying him anyway.

absolutely not, he couldn't give 2 shiny sh*ts about everton, he's only bothered about the 80k a week or whatever hes picking up, because he knows full well he's not getting that anywhere else

so he's got 2 options,
1) he accepts he's not good enough and goes to another team and picks up half the salary he's currently on ( if hes lucky )
2) he turns up pretending he's arsed long enough for the new management to think he deserves a shot and keeps his 80k whilst probably hardly playing anyway

the man himself is toxic, and one of the major reasons why last season was so bad itself

There are a lot of clubs in the championship that would take him but lets face it no one is going to pay him 80k a week ,at this point in his career its about the money if i was in his situation i would see the contract out and leave on a free
