Damn right ash

“I look forward to seeing what the manager’s plans are for me and the team. He’s been one of the greatest centre-halves to ever play the game, so I look forward to learning from him and seeing what he can teach me.

“I really can’t wait to get out there at Goodison. I’ve always enjoyed playing on the Goodison pitch, so it will be nice to be an Everton player and experience what it’s all about when I’m part of the home team.

“This is always a noisy place with a crowd that gets behind the team. As an away player – I’ve scored at Goodison and in my career I haven’t scored many goals - it’s a difficult place to play.

“What Everton fans can expect of me is an honest player, a hard-working player who will try to do as good as I can for my teammates and the Club. I’m not always perfect but I always have the right intentions and I try to leave it all out there on the pitch.

“I’m excited about meeting my new teammates, staff and focussing on the season ahead. Personal thanks to Ronald Koeman, Steve Walsh, Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright and my representatives at New Era Global Sports for making this fantastic opportunity possible.

“Obviously, Swansea was very memorable for me and I would like to thank every single fan, my former and current teammates and all of the Swansea family for their unconditional support and friendship. I wish everyone at Swansea all the best for the future and they will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Type of player we should've bought 2 seasons ago.

Think him and Jags will save us points and mega clean sheet bonuses all round.

Keeper. Striker. Midfielder next. Ta.

Like his character.

Like in the Euro's when he insisted on carrying on even though he clearly had a bad shoulder injury. Was just like Pele in Escape to Victory, apart from without the bicycle kick, or Russell Osman on the bench

Crap. Send him back, £10m for a player with about 4 years left, can't wait til the Gladwys street start offering him a straightener cos his legs have gone.

@Moomin don't know what you are trying to say there. That was a comment from three bloody years ago. And yes I still prefer a tall CB to partner him I have not changed my opinion. You said Martinez would turn it around a week before he got sacked. Is that mean you are wrong?

Could you please stop quoting me consistently just to get a reaction from me. I thought the mods had helped us to put each other on the ignore list so clearly you let me out of the cage.

P.S what did you think of McCarthy back in 2013?

Would liked to have seen a back 3 of Jags, Williams and Stones. Stones in the sweeper role being allowed to bring the ball forward with 2 solid CB's behind him, would have been a joy to watch.

You just know Williams is going to be kicking himself for not joining us a few seasons earlier.

Very good signing. Now if only we weren't throwing 30m at that useless lump Bolasie. Please God, intervene ffs!

Selling Stones, albeit with years ahead of him, for close to 50m and getting Williams in with at least 2/3 years of his prime for less than 10m... fantastic business. Just hope we have more (quality) signings to follow.

Also worth noting that Williams will give everything for us in those 3 years. I doubt he will try and get subbed off due to his tummy being a bit hurty in a derby.

Holgate.

Williams is a blue collar player - bring his lunch box and puts in his shift. Love those kind of players in defense. With Williams aboard, competition at CB will be solid. Funes Mori had a solid Copa America campaign and is now an established starting CB for Argentina.

Jags, Williams, Funes Mori, Holgate and Pennington - perfectly content with this and up 30M + in the transfer kitty to boot.
