At the moment it’s backs to the Walls stuff and we are pretty compressed. Keep him outside the box and within 10 yards and he can do a job. If we improve and we move up the pitch he’ll be exposed.

As you suggest, defence is the responsibility of the whole team. This season, the back four have not played well, but nor has the whole team.
The changes in personnel Sam makes depend upon the way he intends to play in future - and that is something that we are all eager to learn.
So it's a little early to decide the changes. Besides, we cannot change the players in every position.

Think he works really well with Holgate, one of the best talkers in our team - makes sense to have him alongside an inexperienced centre back.
Happy to see him playing so well recently, felt a bit sorry for him earlier in the season - was so poor, takes a lot of hard work and effort to turn it around, credit to him for that and hopefully he keeps it up!

He's not making as many mistakes as he was but he still makes some, because we are more solid as a unit he is getting away with most (he totally missed the header for their goal last night) of them. He definitely isn't what we need to build upon but he deserves to start at the minute.
