Other than if we have Gana in there GW is going to dominate anyway. For the last 3 seasons he ( and Trossard) were the two realistic targets I wanted us to try for. Terrific player, great engine and great attitude. Way too good for a bottom-dwelling team.

Honestly, the arguments against Patterson are comical, if the alternatives had been ripping it up there’s nothing to be said, but we’ve been exposed time and again on the right whoever has played there, but as they are older and listen they get the nod. Pattersons the only one with an assist isn’t he ffs?!

Cba with it anymore, it will be young if he’s fit, then Godfrey, especially as Patterson is injured, and as the majority seem to want.

We could put James Garner there if we could trust Onana to put a good shift in but he’s proved consistently that he doesn’t. Reminds of that old sign in shops years ago: Please don’t ask for trust as a refusal often offends: Onana certainly offends with his half hearted performances.

Gutting isnt it the players we got close to signing if things had been different..MGW, Kudus and luis diaz were all players we nearly got close to. Can you imagine those 3 in our team..

Moving forward he shouldn't be in the starting eleven but can provide cover in a number of positions.

To be still in the premier league at his age he must be ultra professional and will be a great example to the youngsters at the club. He has played under two of the greatest managers in the modern era and they have nothing bad to say about him. You need the likes of him in a squad.

Being able to play crap consistently in various positions is not “ providing cover “
