39 years old before the new season starts. Has appeared 29 times this season and Dyche will play him basically anywhere. Seems inevitable he'll be contracted to Everton until he's 40 - absolutely insane.

We should be giving that right back slot a massive clear out this summer - letting Seamus and Young go, getting Patterson up for sale and bringing in a player that can run and cross a football.

Esp if he's on the money he's reportedly on... ridiculous

He's done alright this season, everything considered. He's not a full-back but filled in at both RB and LB for us when needed.

Thankful for his effort but we cannot be relying on a 39 year old to play minutes next season.

If he's offered a new deal, take it as a sign that we're in this pits financially again this summer.

I thought he was largely naff from September to March. Hes put in a couple of decent performances since then.

No, because he's been a full back for United and Villa for ages and a filler/stop gap at left wing, then got recruited as a left back for us, evident by the fact he started playing at left back, and doing so poorly, then moved to right back and into midfield.

He's a poor player anywhere now and has been for half a decade anyway, who's arsed.

That's the baseline you want to use? Godfrey is good about 1 out of 5 games. He's comfortably the weak link in the back line when compared to Tarks, Branth, and Myko. Better than Young is not the line we should be using...

It isn’t the baseline we should be using. But it’s the Young thread and you made a comment insinuating Godfrey being poor. I was simply stating he has still be better than Young (who others are praising in here)
