That boat sailed long time ago for me, tarnished would not be the word I would use.

If he's after a two year deal hope the club tells him to do one. Never in a million years should a club offer a 2 year deal to a player already so obviously finished. He should be dropping down a few divisions and taking on a player manager role or something - horrific and embarrassing that he's about to earn himself an extended stay in the Premier League!
