Not defendingvthe idiot fircstupidly trying that while on a yellow. But in his defense, the first was never a yellow, as demonstrated by the ref later when a rs did exactly the same tackle to one of ours but didn't get booked.
Agree, thats the softest sending off you would likely see. His first yellow, a Liverpool player (Tsimikas) did exactly the same sort of tackle and it was just a free kick. Refs always bottle it at Anfield, get sold by the crowd.

Let’s face it the ref was waiting for an excuse for him to walk. I would take a point all day now. We’ve battled well but we need to be a bit smarter with the ball in their final 3rd. We could have opened them up with a bit more quality.

Harshly sent off? It was two obvious yellow cards. Maybe the referee could've shown some leniency but Young gave him a decision to make.

Must admit, just seen the reply on both and I can see why the both yellows were given. I thought the first yellow there was no contact but it was the knee that caught him.....still great defending to stop the counter attack early on 🤣

Both blatant yellow cards, mate. As I said, sometimes you get lucky and the ref gives a final warning but that was never going to happen at Anfield.

Whilst the referee is nothing short of being a criminal - Young has probably gone and blew any chance of changing the natives minds about him after that.

Took Pickford a long time after the Origi howler and he's a top level player.
