2024/25 Ashley Young

Solid enough again.

The issue of course is N'Diaye has to do everything on his own on the left because Young is simply incapable of getting forward and will always come back onto his right and pass it back to the CB. The opposition know this too.
Is this on young tho is the same at rb in a dyche system they dont look to overlap. Was ok today helps the team massively that he csn fill in at rb/lb even tho we should have players in already

No complaints last two games, in fact, he's probably our best left back.

We have to bring in one new full back in January though, ideally on the left as we have Patterson And Dixon that have potential on the right, but Young who will leave at the end of the season on the left.

Mykolenko is generally a liability when he plays, and with his frequent injuries he cannot even be relied upon to be available. Definitely look at offloading him end of the season - especially since his contract expires end of next season. Probably get about £2m for him if we're lucky.

Very solid performances which comes on the back of a lot of criticism from the sidelines. Feels crazy to agree with what you’ve written but you’re right .

Upgrade at LB desperately required but did his job today, one of the few who gets at the refs
Upgrade at both sides desperately needed. I’m not going to get mad at Young though. He isn’t starting himself and he isn’t re-signing himself. You just hope that he does his job when he is on the pitch and he did what he was asked to do- albeit to the detriment of our attack. That is what you sacrifice for more defensive security though if you don’t have a mobile fullback. Thankfully Ndiaye can work on his own ahead of him so that is a positive if anything.

You obviously hope it will get better, but the hatred I've seen thrown at lads giving their all is beyond anything understandable

I 100 percent agree it is not his fault but our recruitment. I don’t like to see all of the abuse our players get but I very much would like us to improve and look towards the future. We need to quit re-signing these guys and find another strategy. All we can ask is he does his job while he is here and he has done it the past 2-3 weeks so good on him
