He's done well lately when busy closing games out. Simple things like letting the ball roll away from him when it was our throw in, takes up 10-15 seconds and it counts at the end of matches.

We're so threadbare he'll still have a big part to play.

I like that Young is being used as a late match sub for another younger back. That’s how it should’ve been all season.

I would be fine with a player like Young if you could trust the manager to only use him in the role he has been recently. I just think it is too tempting to rely on "experience" and neglect that he doesn't have the legs to handle 90 minutes without somebody covering for him on his side. I like that he can play all across the pitch and is two footed. It's how he should have been used in the first place.

Like's a bit of the subtle art of mithering and narking the opposition. Looking to win a freekick or waste a bit of time, or get a push n shoving match going, he's perfect, made a career of it. A player that'll carry the ball into a corner and look to force a fk or a throw. Game management. Senior man in the squad, brings a bit of the Gareth Barry example to the team.

I think it’s refreshing and inspiring to see a player with his CV still show such an unwavering desire to play every week. He’s not one to linger on the injury table because his passion drives him to be out there on the field. Whether the manager decides to start him or not isn’t his concern – he remains a true professional, leading by example. Young players have a lot to learn from him, as he's a model pro, always ready to help in any way he can.
