Problem with that viewpoint is that we don't have any money to spend on players. Any money brought in was to balance the books and contribute to the stadium.

We didn't have the cash to get Emery and to then back him with many 20-30m players.

This is our 5th transfer window in a row with 0 investment. Lucky still even to be in the Premier League.
