OK, looking at MotD just now I suppose I should re-assess the 'luck' thing.
i) As far as Villa goes it may have been lucky that Milner still managed to get the to the ball but it would have been a penalty and a red card had he not scored. Their bad luck is our good luck as they will now lose Ashley Young for three games.
ii) OK, we've lost our main man-of-the-moment for a couple of games too but we mustn't forget that we were lucky Mofro wasn't given offside when he scored against Hull.
iii) Wigan are our main rivals (if we look at 6th place being our minimum objective) and they were denied a nailed-on penalty after Zaki - as clinical a striker as you'd wish to see - had the miss of the season against Citeh.
It just goes to prove the old adage that luck levels out over the course of the season so expect Gerrard to be sent off for constant diving and Hibbo to score from the half-way line after the ball bounces off the crossbar and into Reina's arms, only for the back-pedling Carragher to clatter into him and bundle them both - and the ball - into the back of the goal, causing the woodwork to collapse and break both Reina's arms and both Carragher's legs.
Now there's your excuse, RS!![Big Grin :D :D](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/biggrin.gif)
