And who cares who they are,4th/5th/6th tier team as heard all those tiers last few days lol,you still have to beat whats infront of you, imagine if we lost, you would never hear the end of it,only everton could win 22-0 and you get so many moaning

Absolutely pmsl everywhere at the “why make it public” shout lollollol

Should have just ignored the fact that we won 22 0 ona live stream

Also love the implication that we shouldn’t be streaming games against crap teams, when a few blues even flew out there, don’t get on the plane lads, coolino off the internet doesn’t agree with it lol

Some proper weapons on here.

Should we have stopped scoring at 8-0 to be it easier to report on it and call it an actual game? It was the first pre-season game, it was meant to be easy. Maybe not quiet that easy but you can only play what's put in front of you.

For those complaining about the record score, we played a pub team, you should be complaining if it wasn't a record score. You don't get your highest ever score in Premier league games, you get them in friendlies like this.

Onwards to the Bury game to give lids more to complain about.

Can't understand why people can't see the problem with that game.

Yeah you have lesser competition to get started in pre-season - it's like a boxer fighting a journeyman pro to get a pro career started after winning a gold medal in the olympics. That's fine.

But what we did yesterday was like giving that gold medallist a drunk, blindfolded disabled 5-year-old kid to him as an opponent - so when the boxer then proceeds to mercilessly batter the kid it's actually more embarrassing for the boxer that it ever happened in the first place.

That's the problem - that game shouldn't have happened. It should have been a behind closed doors friendly at best.

So basically you're just moaning they let fans see their players in action for the first time since May????????

It really doesn’t matter though.

We played the game as a thanks for them hosting us at their facilities.

There’s nothing to take away from it tactically and therefore it served a fitness purpose - which is sound because they had a full training session in the morning and then still had at least 45 minutes, an hour in Dowell’s case.

As for the score, well, at least we can say we had our shooting boots on.

Maybe that team are mature enough not to be embarrassed that they got battered by a top half premier league outfit at near full strength and are grateful for the experience.

What may have been embarrassing for them is if we'd changed our usual approach to preseason games and played it in secret to preserve their feelings.

it's this easily-pleased contingent which is holding us back.

No. Yes.

No problem with the players taking pot shots at a pub team...that hype machine, tho'...it's a bit cringe.

Mate, nobody on this website is easily pleased. Have a look at the past seasons posts on almost any thread you like and you will find that people are far from easily pleased.
I really don't understand the comment regarding ANY of the fans holding us back, have a look at the spineless mercenary gets that played for us last season do you not think THEY are the people holding us back.
After the season we have just had why begrudge anyone a bit of joy regarding the club.
We have a different management structure now that has put a totally different shine on a lot of the clubs activities and there are still a few pre-season games left that we can use to assess how our season might develop.

No, I'm moaning at the staging of it, with full Twitter coverage and GOAL gifs.

Seriously? I think it's great that the club are putting more effort into social media coverage and it's nice to have the chance to see the training, friendlies, youth matches etc. We're well behind some of the other teams in terms of putting EFC out there for the world to see - if united played One Man And His Dog FC there would probably be a 6 hour special on their tv channel. I'm afraid the days of celebrating a goal with a single shake of the hand are well past.
