Hope Putin comes on board
I think he had his fingers in a piece of the pie and also sibneft. But sold them and is now involved in other businesses. He is a powerful man in Russia in some sort of way. All the Russian football club owners do each other favours too.Abramovich owns gazprom, doesn't he?

Read the Russian story and napolis radio station seem to have got egg on their face. To me it seems a straight fight between Ev and Chelsea going by Russian reports and updates
From the Zenit press release to TASS today
translating it, then it's basically an official club statement given to the leading Russian paper (TASS) in effect saying Zenit is not negotiating with Napoli regarding Witsel, goes on to further state that the club is not in negotiation with Napoli and (the important bit) Will not be conducting any negotiations in the future with Napoli with regards to Axel Witsel.
From the way they point blank refused to deal with the Italian teams last season after Juve and i think Milan kept messing around (going behind the clubs back etc) and the press release from Zenit at the time accusing them of tapping up effectively and then their refusal to negotiate any further with them - then seems like Napoli have utterly pissed them off like those teams did. Telling is how quickly after the Italian radio station connected to Napoli ran the story saying the deal was close and terms agreed that Zenit have come out with this, can't put enough enphasis on how clear the message the club released is - no chance they will be backtrcking on that now.
Will stick my neck out and say no matter what happens he wont be going to Napoli after this.
Could be right there mate time will tell I supposePlus Usmanov basically rescued Gazprom from liquidation, I suppose them and Zenit owe him a favour.
Is Chelsea's interest serious ?
I think it's sticky enough as it is mate.
Their press officer(forgotten his name ) definitely said that they're in talks with Chelsea or have talked but won't go further into detail. Whether they've bid is anyone's guess but 100% had talksIs Chelsea's interest serious ?
to be fair he didn't say in talks he said they had talked, more as an enquiry than anything else, that is how it came across.Their press officer(forgotten his name ) definitely said that they're in talks with Chelsea or have talked but won't go further into detail.
