We had an initial agreement 4 weeks ago, circumstances changed when on holiday and we're back, v close to concluding.

This is about right. Something along the lines of an increase in a sign on fee, clauses and bonuses which we've met. It's all about timing and ironing out small details to a complex contract. I believe he's happy about the wages offered.
