Baby killed in bed by a dog called 'killer'.

Can remember that sinking gut feeling when you toey the ball over into someone's garden with a dobie patrolling it. Pure gauntlet. And you had to get the ball back because it belonged to your mate.

Being an adult is well better.

Remember my mate being chased through gardens round Shankley fields by some proper beast.

These dogs have been bred for many generations by the lowest type of scum to be violent and aggressive, either specifically for the purpose of fighting or as someone has said, as a sort of scal status symbol.

It's sad to say but the ban must be enforced brutally and with prejudice: there is no point trying to 'salvage' the breed though I have no doubts they are more than capable of love and good temperament, it's far too dangerous a situation to be merciful with these breeds. Need to eradicate them and be far more strict about who we allow to own and breed them.

It's bliss, so they say...

All this begs the question: whatever happened to dobies? That's dobermans to you wools.

A sleep killer dog of the eighties has been eradicated and its just wrong. A Rotty ruled by fear but none was a child terrifier as much as the doberman who not only carried the same colours at the Rottweilers but could outrun you to your front door from 15m with a 100m head start.

Going the van for me mar's messages was a nightmare when there were a couple of rogues dobies back in the day.

Kids don't know how easy they have it now honestly.

Haha I've got two Dobies, and this sign on the garden gate.....

Absolutely ace dogs btw.

Beautiful dogs, mate.

People can often mistake protective dogs for nasty ones. Dobermans are obviously top notch guard dogs but these days, in family settings, have a gentle temperament and are very obedient.

There have been plenty of breeds that were bred for dog fighting, the APBT was never bred for human aggression. You'd need to look at other breeds first.

Ironically you're the one being prejudice based on conjecture and rumour. I don't own a APBT and probably wouldn't out of choice, simply because I prefer other breeds. But vilanising a breed and wanting it irradiated out of existence based on tabloid sensationalism is crazy.

The reality is the APBT is in more danger from humans than the either way around. The dog has been a breed that has been regularly brutalised. Dog fighting is a horrendous sport, if you can even call it that.

After you eradicate one breed, what do you do next? Keep eradicating them until you're left with miniature poodles? Wait for one of those to bite someone and then get rid of those too? Move on to cats next because they have vicious claws? *tongue in cheek

There's plenty of rubbish in the tabloid press, all you have to do is look at how they've treated certain sections of society in recent years, not to mention immigration and any other nonsense they want to perpetuate as flavour of the month.

My heart breaks when I see the picture of that poor little girl who was killed. She so adorable and yet her own mother put her in a dangerous situation. Fancy calling the dog Killer. The owner now gone into hiding due to death threats.

Spot on post mate, apbt are absolutely amazing dogs btw (when raised well), actually great around people and protective as anything over their family too.

Problem is in the owners, you ban one breed entirely theyll shift to owning another dog that loe and behold will become the new killer dog etc, tackle bad owners not portray a dog as bad due to its breed.

Sad as it sounds the kids who end up hurt by dogs come from the same parenting of kids who are hurt or killed by parental negligence, carelessness and abuse

imagine having a baby and a pitbull hahahaahha RIP to the little girl on the OP but come on lads, what would you expect.

I've got a Bichon. They're boss. I now want a Chihuahua as well! I'll stop after that though I promise.

With a well raised dog mate a apbt is of absolutely no danger to a human, problem is a tool of a owner of the dog and a mother who thinks its safe to leave a baby in a room with any animal

Lads, I think this thread is going way off topic - a little girl died in the most tragic of circumstances, let's remember her and the tragedy that befell her.
