Ouch!!

Question is - Did they mess up when they placed the order or did the person printing it mess up?

Either way, it's a mighty fine way to ruin your day!

Can't beleive the people who are missing the point

You can mock the reaction of kids and the fact that parents are upset because they have been looking forward to getting their kids the kit. People have been looking forward to the 17th of July because all these kids want to do is wear their new Everton kit with pride after watching their RS mates wearing theirs for last 8 weeks. Even if you don't care cos it's just a pair of socks, it is utterly shambolic performance from KitBag who are supposed to be specialists in kit supply and distribution, and people are within their rights to say what they think

I'm not missing the point, the point is very simple. People want socks! and they want them now, they want big wolly socks to put on on the hottest day of the year! they want socks so the can dress in the full uniform and show everyone that by wearing those socks their real fans! people don't want socks tomorrow! socks tomorrow would be no good! socks tomorrow means they've been a day without socks! socks tomorrow means they don't have socks today! socks tomorrow means they can blame the club for everything! socks tomorrow means they can moan about not signing players tomorrow! socks tomorrow can mean they can ask were the Arteta monies gone!

Yours is the first post I've read that solely lays the blame at the right people, kitbag. But people still want to fume about Everton and all things Everton.

Kitbag are responsible but Everton need to hold them accountable im afraid. If there are not enough socks then Umbro need to be held accountable too for failing to supply a kit on time - im sure it will be in a contract somewhere.

My issue is down to the fact that i walked into Everton 1 on the day the yellow kit was released last year. Ok it was about 6 oclock because i had been in work...but it was the first day, not the first week or the first month. I asked for the kit and in the snottiest tone she had this girl says to me 'were sold out' I was like 'you what? to which she replies...well yer shoulda pre ordered it then shouldnt yer! I almost decked the little scrubber

So this season i do pre order it...and guess what, kitbag/everton/umbro balls it up again.

And what will happen? Nothing! Because they give us, the team that finished 5th in the PL last season...£3M a year! An absolutely laughable figure by even Sunderlands standard! But we sit back and apologize for the club again and again 'because its only socks...or we dont want to do a portsmouth lid.

One day, hopefully in my lifetime we will have a chairman and a board running this club again that us fans deserve

Haha, got to be intentional that surely.

I remember having a heated debate with Dave Hickson on a Goodison tour about GRAVESON being printed on all of Tommy's shirts in the dressing room pre-season. Felt bad in the end as he was adamant it wasn't a mistake.

You are right about the Everton fume-fest. People will usually find any excuse to moan about the club

I've got to disagree about the rest though. My kids aren't spoilt (I've had to invent kids now to throw Larry off the scent about me wearing the kit), however I want to buy them the kit and have been looking forward to the kit launch so I can do that. We'll probably have to wait a few days or whatever till the socks come in, and do you know what, it won't be the absolute catastastophe that I think you are making out that people are suggesting. In the meantime, my kids can play in the street with all the little RS kids in their horrible red kits.

But seriously, there are 3 component parts to the kit, it can't be that hard for a kit supply expert to organise the distribution of these 3 parts for the launch date when it has been getting organised for months. They are either employing some complete idiots, Everton simply do not register highly enough up their priority list or it's a combination of both of these. Everton supporters are right to be unimpressed and the club should be asking serious questions of KitBag as to their ability to fulfil their part of the contract

Full kits - NOT EVEN ONCE

Gawd, defending Kopites, I shouldn't be doing this, but that's clearly a joke.

Otherwise, with the arl FKW's, I always feel slightly uneasy about giving them down the banks, as in my opinion, 90% of the time you're giving grief to an innocent legitimate spackem, no make-up.

This season was the first time since 2005 that I preordered any of the shirts, because last time I did, it was delivered late and the printing on the back was damaged. And since Id bought it online, they flat out refused to give me a replacement in the shop, I instead had to send it back to the online address to get a refund...then go into the shop and buy a new one!

And yeah, while sometimes the cock ups arent Everton's fault, they dont help themselves either. Got Heitinga on the back of a shirt a couple of seasons ago, paid for the shirt and the printing, took it to the desk to get the printing done, and they put a 6 on instead of a 5 despite it being written on the receipt! We get little enough from our kit deal, think how much more cash we're piddling away with cock ups like this.

Do you know Everton haven't made their position known to kitbag? Or umbro? Do you think the merchandising department have just laughed it off? Do you think they where happy just sitting there watching their staff repeatedly tell potential sock buyers that there are no socks today? Do you think the club staff enjoy seeing the tears in the eyes of young children and parents well up when their told there's no sock left today? Of course not.

I've got to be honest you were very unlucky last summer considering the amount of people who repeatedly and forcefully announced they wouldn't be buying any merchandise with that badge on it. I'm very surprised they sold out on day one given how much open revolt there was at the time. I hope you made your dissatisfaction clear to the store manager at the time that you didn't appreciate the young ladies customer service skills and I'm glad you reframed from decking "the little scrubber".

Im not really sure how you can bring the chairman or any of the board directly into sockgate as it's clearly a logistical problem higher up the supply line. Have you inquired when the next batch of socks will be in stock?

mate mine are infants kits. Pre ordered for 6 and 4 year olds. So im led to beleive mine should have come with socks...

but mine wont be coming at all. So im missing the top, shorts and socks

I'm new, but, but, I just could not let that pass.

Day one of kit launch, people moaning at her and other staff that their size had run out and she'd probably been in since early that morning, she wasn't been snotty just probably tired and wanted to go home. Trust me I've been in that situation several times on a Sunday without the sarky 'snotty' tone when customers are still coming up to my till up to 30 mins after the store closes
