Bands you like - which others may not know

sorry, missed the point, everyone has heard of the Point of Ayr Colliery Band.
Having a senior moment, aided by several beers. Hic.

I've never been an especially keen musician, in fact I don't know sweet [Poor language removed] all about music because I can't read the written music, the notes, or the phrases, riffs, quavers, whatever, they're all gobbledegook to me. But I know what sounds I like. I'd have to say the Funk-Soul of the 70s and 80s has to be classic, Sly & The Family Stone, Rick James, and my all time favourite The Isley Brothers. I also really like Seal and Michael Jackson as artists because they have made some fantastic records over the years, Seal is a British icon in my eyes and a great vocal talent.
Recently I've really been into Nirvana (I know they're not recent but picked up their debut album not so long ago and loved it) and the Kings of Leon.

Dear God, I feel old.
Bands?
Point of Ayr Colliery Band maybe?

Do Aerosmith count as a band? If so, they're my favourites, if not, dunno.

I knew a few lads worked there, great sound as well waking up the residents of Talacre:lol:

DBRAG Aerosmith could also be smiths that make aeros:P

Obviously old enough to remember Point of Ayr colliery, let's just say it won't be long before I don't have to pay on the bus!;)
I'm from near Wrexham originally but my mothers family are from Halkyn near Holywell and I now live near Buckley so very familiar with the area.

Did someone mention the Isley Brothers? My very favourites!
'This ol' heart of mine's been broke a thousand times.......
Oh happy days!

Apologies to younger viewers, yet another senior moment is looming.........

You'll like Spanish Harlem then, smooth as it gets

Glad you enjoyed them mate, Im also liking the Kings of Leon (good taste Sean) and about to start liking the Pigeon Detectives.

Kings of Leon are great, they're touring here again in January and a mate has got me a ticket. Saw them last year when they played support for Pearl Jam, was really impressed.
