Barton - What a Fool.

Barton is a prick of the first order who'll get what's coming to him soon enough. As for the Alonso incident today, it's Karma that he got a bit of bruising after having all those players sent off for diving this season. Class player but a cheat, pure and simple.

He's had so many chances it's stupid, although it was on a RS i wouldn't wish tackels like that on any player, can so easily wreck a career.

He needs to sort himself out, so many people have give him second chances.

I once saw him coming out of a newsagents, didn't realise it was him at first just thought it was some yob. He gives off terrible vibes. Should have been banned from the premiership many times, when are they FA going to grow some balls and deal with this waste of space?

Haven't seen the tackle but Alonso involved in another player being sent off tells me it musn't have been that bad. b)

First viewing i didn't think it was that bad.

Every subsequent viewing it looked like a idiotic ****house tackle. Anywhere on the picth would be bad enough but Alonso was in the corner going nowhere, totally stupid to even make a challenge really but a 2 footed lunge? Stupid, just stupid.

Yeh Alonso's going nowere no need for it - he's put his team under more pressure than they were already under, they're now without him for the rest of the season.

No room in the game for two footed tackels, weather you win the ball or not. Have to say im with Myke on this FA need to grow a pair and deal with him.

Have'nt seen the tackle but Barton is quite simply a scum bag. I just hope Moyes never goes in for him.

He was no doubt showing his "passion" for the club. C.U.N.T more like.

Just seen Barton's tackle. He is one horrid individual but i dont think his challenge on Alonso was a straight red. Am i the only one who feels that??

It was studs up 2 footed straight through Alonso. I've seen worse but its the kind of tackle we don't want in the game.

There has to be some ground made on these rules though mate. How high is a high tackle? Two foot off the ground? three foot off the ground? In this particular challenge, Barton's feet where less than half a foot off the ground if that. How can a challenge be made in that case today, without showing studs? We will one day have a non contact sport which it almost is now, and players will no longer be able to wear studs. Barton's reputation was the key factor in that sending off because it did not warrant a straight red card. A yellow card and a stern teling off would have sufficed.

I know what you mean about the studs thing, you look at numerous tackles made over the course of a weekend and technically the studs are up.

But the difference is that one is 2 players going for the ball, and one is throwing yourself recklessly at an opponent with your studs showing. If you make contact you run a serious risk of injuring the other player. Barton done the latter.

Like i said before, at first viewing i thought it was harsh and the ref gave the card based on Bartons reputation, but on second viewing it was warranted.

He didnt throw himself in front of Alonso, he didn't catch him with his trailing leg. Both feet followed by the rest of him went flying into Alonso studs first. So it wasn't just the studs up bit but the whole challenge i'd say got him a red.
