I'm disappointed to announce that Basil Fawlty has made the decision to step down as a moderator on GrandOldTeam;

Basil Fawlty said:
I don't feel I can perform the duties I used to. I became a moderator here as I knew I was available late at night when it was needed at the time. I no longer am in a position to guarantee that I can perform my duties as a moderator satisfactorily and as such my input into the forum has declined lately.

If there is anything at all I can do to contribute anytime don't hesitate to contact me as I still love GOT and will browse every day as I have since I found the forum, and will continue to promote it in any small way I can.

Thanks a lot for everything Dan and I hope that this place flourishes, albeit with a heavy heart that circumstances have dictated my non involvement.

It's no doubt a real shame for us, but fair play to Basil - completely understand his reasoning. Thanks for all your hard work pal.

(We don't accept moderating requests).

I'll pay Basil another compliment on the way he modded this place during his time then, and hope no one needlessly takes a dig at me for it this time.

Well done on your time as a mod Basil, you'll be missed. Just went quietly about your job and presumably done it well judging by peoples comments.

There's a good lad.

It's interesting to see what people perceive to be a good moderator is. From six years of building a forum from nothing to the best in the league, a successful moderation team needs a combination of varying demeanor - some quiet (Welton, Muggins, Basil), some in-between (Dylan, Dutch, Neiler), some loud (Me, TX, Mick) - all integral in running a successful online community.

You provide a platform for us all to talk utter bollocks a lot of the time and a small amount of sense sometimes, great place so thanks to all the mods and all that

He's only been doing it while he developed an Internet Forum Moderator Costume for the shop, had an excess of Mallets Mallets see and they were taking up space.

Micks one of the heavy squad ? he's one of the encouragables when he's here in the day and your all busy elsewhere.

Like on Twitter blocking me ffs.

Nice one Basil.

Have you had to sign a confidentiality agreement about all the secret mod stuff?

Obviously mate. That's the only reason I'm still alive and able to post. Unless I'm not alive and the mods are covering up for Danny by logging in and posting from my account. To be honest though I always suspected myself of being a Chico multi and always expected to be found out. But that's just my opinion like.

Bas is chico, I knew it all along.

Incorrigible do you mean Reidy:

1. Incapable of being corrected or reformed: an incorrigible criminal.
2. Firmly rooted; ineradicable: incorrigible faults.
3. Difficult or impossible to control or manage: an incorrigible, spoiled child.

Makes me sad
