Im still contemplating it after seeing it last night. *spoilers*
I love movies, but this film, Id put in the 'its alright' basket. I think its probably that theres no other half decent offerings out there thats put this into the hype stratosphere.
I have to agree thinking about it
I enjoyed it for sure, but I did have a problem with it. A touch too long, and one niggling thing I couldnt quite put my finger on. Its the reality of it all. Its a film that tries so hard to be so realistic and then decides that you can fill a hospital (The biggest hospital in town no less) with explosives, rely on a couple of bent cops and get away with it. That no metal detectors went off when the fat guy stuffed with C4 goes into jail in this post 9/11 world also had me scratching. And dont get me started on the technology required to turn a mobile phone into a triangulating GPS device. In a city of 20 million.
Dont get me wrong, I love a fast fictional pic as much as the next fan, but to not have Batman mow down the joker on his bike after so much carnage defeats the morality of the films ending. Batman can be the bad guy, because he's Batman?
Ledgers performance was good, no doubt(Only because he is dead is the reason why everyone is raving about him, but to be honest. He did a marvellous job. Better then Jack Nichloson in my opinion), but I thought Eckharts was better(Agreed). I went in expecting to see the best film Ive seen this year, but walked out a little numb. I enjoyed the first film better, but this one does stand up in its own right.
And for the record, the best film Ive see this year is ("The forbidden Kingdom" for me., Hands down. "Never back down" as the worst by the way) 'A Moment of Romance'.
Oh and the Bat-voice. Did they CGI his voice down because it sounds rediculous( From what I gather it is natural and that trashes the whole film for me. It is, as you say, ridiculous).
