BBC Drops Classified Results on the radio

They do have interesting things on it. In fact, all this week they have a dramatisation of A Month in the Country by J L Carr. A story of a WW1 veteran and his reflections on love and loss.
Also this week they have a biography of Roald Dahl.
Agreed. It’s literary output is excellent. 50’s, 60’s & 70’s comedy that I never tire of, interesting themed compilation programmes on a Saturday which often make the long drive back from Selhurst more bearable.
@chrismpw I agree that the podcast hour is an odd one. It has all the promise of a night out with Marilyn Monroe and the actuality is a hectoring ear bending from Liz Truss.

James Alexander Gordon was part of the sound of Saturday. Gazzetta Football Italia and a bit of Soccer AM in the morning, followed by the pub before the game, the game, the theme of Sports Report, the classified check and home for tea. The Saturdays became fewer and fewer with televised schedules taking games to all parts of the week and slowly but surely, tradition dies.

I think your move to BMD will be a big leap forward but you won't half miss Goodison Park. Routine and familiarity are a big part of a fan's life.

You don’t have a phone like everyone else?

It’ll have been dropped for a reason - they have ratings data and if people simply don’t tune in to listen to something everyone has access to in much more immediate ways now, of course they’re going to drop it.
Yeah I have a phone but a) it doesn't work in Goodison as no reception and b) I prefer to concentrate on the road when i'm driving home instead of looking at my phone.

Not sure about the ratings data. If that were true then why not drop the whole show as I dont see people tuning in to listen to the final scores coming in, tuning out for 5mins whilst the results are read out, and then tuning back in again.

I suspect they are just trying to steer/force people to get the results data online instead and by doing so free up some time for the run up to the 5:30 game that they now have.

Tory view.
BBC out put us streets ahead of itv.
The campaign against the bbc is led by murdoch for financial gain and the tories because they are held to account.
And people who don't fancy being forced to pay £160-a-year for something they don't watch whilst some presenters pick up seven-figure annual salaries. You want the BBC? You pay for it. Why should I?
