It may be boring to you, but you can see that people's passions are aroused even in the thread here. And the media, for good or bad, report on what people want to read about (personally I could go for a ban on Kerry Katona).

Completely agreed, but incidents such as this aren't worth reading about, thats my point

In Barton's defense, what he did was no worse than what Rooney got away with. And on the pitch Barton hasn't really been more vile than knobhead.

Agree with Rook. On the pitch he's probably no bigger a thug than the likes of Keane, Rooney or our beloved legend Dunc. Off the pitch is what worries me. He's the type you don't want to meet on a night out. He's defo a bad arse [Poor language removed]

I think you wrong danny! it is about him. The lad is a top idiot, he knows he's under scrutney an he still acts like a prick. You say the press are after him? Just think why? I agree with you that it really was a nothing incedent an probably happens 5 times every game. But people are watching him..........

The thing with Barton is that he's a thug, simple as that. In any sector, if thug is employed there, he's always going to be under greater scrutiny than your average Joe. If Barton does something on the pitch that is aggressive, obviously it receives attention because it is yet one more vicious incident in a long line of violent incidents. No sympathy from me whatsoever. He's crossed the line from being a bit handy with his fists, into being a violent thug. He needs watching in my opinion.

Anyway, the latest is that Barton allegedly committed racial abuse.
