Beattie scored on debut...

oh and I don't think you can blame Moyes. First season with Beattie and we struggled, second season with Beattie and first with AJ and we qualify for UEFA.

If Beattie never made the first eleven it is because he never impressed during the week. You can't blame Moyes for Beattie's loss of form, thats just a ridiculous thing to say.

im not blaming moyes for beatties loss of form.. im blaming moyes for playing him if he is not up 2 standards..

u r trying to blame beattie, but if he cudnt reach the required skill while playing for us, then only moyes is the man who can remove him.

if he was picked knowing that he is not up to standards, then beattie can only try and perform to 100% of his abilities!!

Fair enough, but if you can try to keep to adult speech it would help us have adult conversations.

so if i miss the odd letter out it means i am not indulging in an adult conversation??

what if i was dyslexic? As stated, most of my replies are 95% perfect, so i think you are being picky and trying to find fault with something for no real reason !

Not that ridiculous Ghost. In the season we struggled BT scored 12 goals and was the highest scorer. Moyes does prefer 4 5 1 as he a conservative person and found success with this formation. AJ would be the ideal striker for this as he is fast and a willing runner. There was no room for BT and his confidence/sharpness dropped. I am of the mind that if you buy someone that has had success then you should play to their strenghts. He never did that with BT. He tried him as a target man but he has never been that type of player. We never have sharp incisive moves that result in giving the forward something to run on to. Look at how many chances Aj is given by the team...not many? Moyes is on a tight budget and is trying to move us forward but I do 'blame' him for BTs failure. Whether this is for the future success of the team remains to be seen.

The fault for Beatties level of pay and style of contract lays purely with EFC. He was not up to Prem quality and got found out. His fitness levels were always questionable, not everyone can do a -11sec 100mts. In fairness to the lad, he tried and tried hard, that was all he could do, he left us with grace and good manners and I wish him all the best. Unlike some home grown talent that has left GP he will be welcome back any time.

PS this comes from his original and biggest critic during his time here.(y)

Well he was top scorer in the Premiership for English players not so long ago, and was in the England squad.

The boy had ability, he just had a considerable dip in form and he is now playing at the level his form deserves.

Also Moyes picks the best team he feels is right for that game. It is that responsibility that he has, and we all respect that.

Ah [Poor language removed] it, done with this conversation. Not bothered anymore.

You can make my pancakes anytime Mont with flipping sides like that!!

Look, did he try his hardest? Just have a look at how he played. To me, he looked laboured and slow, a yard behind everyone else and with the touch of a man wearing Shaquille Oneals basketball shoes. I felt sorry for him, about as sorry as you can feel for a rich man who got paid huff and puff for ten minutes and then jump back into the sauna. Im with Ghost here. Theres no hard feelings in business, and from his record and his attitude, who didnt want Beattie to do well? We all did! We all still do, but that doesnt hide the facts.

He was [Poor language removed]. Full stop.

Sheffield United new-boy James Beattie has admitted his last season at Everton was a "nightmare", in a campaign that led to his departure from Goodison Park.

The England international suffered from a particularly difficult season in front of goal, netting only from the penalty spot, in 35 appearances.

However, fresh from his first league start and goal for his new side, Beattie says he is relishing the prospect of a promotion push, as he looks to aid The Blades' cause of regaining their top-flight status.

He told the Daily Star: "I have never doubted my ability and although the football didn't go too well last season, I was Everton's top scorer 12 months ago and was getting touted to go to the World Cup.

Frozen out

"Last season was a bit of a nightmare. If the manager doesn't fancy you any more you get frozen out and that's what happened to me.

"I was disappointed but life goes on and I am very excited and looking forward to a fresh challenge."

Eyebrows were raised at Beattie's decision to take a step down to the second tier as he completed his club record £4million move to Bramall Lane, but the 29-year-old sees his stay in the Championship as more of a short-term measure.

"It is a step down in leagues, but Sheffield United is a massive club with great support and hopefully I can help us get back up there," he continued.

Competition is healthy

"I have 81 Premiership goals, so hopefully I can add a few Championship goals."

Bryan Robson's side are particularly strong in their striking department, and Beattie has found himself with the likes of Rob Hulse, Jonathan Stead and fellow new signing Billy Sharp to compete with.

"There is a lot of quality in the side. There is competition for strikers but the competition is healthy," he said.

"I am willing to work hard to get into the team, stay there and get us back in the Premier League."

Still wish you luck BT!

I hope he finds his form and confidence again. When playing his best in a team that plays to his strength he is a PL scorer.

a little snippet from BK's recent interview ob EFC TV

“James is a lovely man. He sent me a text before his game (on Saturday) saying thank you for allowing me to play at one of the greatest clubs in the world and wished us all the best.

“He didn’t have the happiest of times at the Club but Beattie was a good servant to the football club.”

Class that(y) , Shrek just told Merseyside to FO

..I knew the lad would come good. Well done Beats, now work on picking up an injury for when you play us next season. Good lad.

Sorry but cut the [Poor language removed] mate, I reckon I could do a job for Sheffield. He's [Poor language removed]. We did great business.
Good riddance to rotten news.

Wrong.

Beatties a good striker, in the matches he played last season, he wasnt bad, he headed well, passed well, just didnt create any opportunities for himself, 2 seasons ago he was great.

The fans were behind beattie last season, no matter how bad he was, they constantly cheered him on, except some [Poor language removed] from bluekipper (:P  )

Good striker, i think hes going to come back next season and make moyes regret selling him.
