Yea, it's pretty popular in the UK. Although after the first day, the little non-airtight jar goes darker and darker anyhow lol
As mentioned it's to see the colour ; a bit effete for me to be honest. They do it in the Lion.@summerisle is usually good for stuff like this
First rate ale that. When I first tried it years ago it was gorgeous and my go to pint. About 10 years ago they 'improved' the recipe and made a complete balls up of it. Backlash was severe and they reverted to the old one. Glad to see it's still winning fans.View attachment 80667
Last nights offering - Gem 4.1% from a new one to me - Bath Brewery.
It was that good, I stayed on it all night, despite other beers being on offer.
An absolute cracker.
I was in a Sam Smith’s pub today, Bradford, and they had light mild (3.7%) I’ve not seen that since I had Robinson’s light mild in Stockport 30 odd years ago. Very popular apparently at £1.35 a pint.
Never had that, will be on my very, very long list when the pubs again open.View attachment 81523
Last nights final hurrah :
Hinkypunk - 4.1% Big Bog Brewery.
Beautiful stuff, almost like a bitter crossed with a pale wheat beer.
Have had two, will have two more, very nice.
Good on Stuart Broad for this. @peteblue does your pub do food ?

Not many of those left, my favourite type of pub with no smells of stale cooking oil and people there for the ale and conversation. I fear for the survival of the traditional boozer. No, we have loads of good dining pubs around. We are a wet pub and the best around....
