Beer, revisited

View attachment 93232

Last nights post lockdown tipple :

Padi 3.7% from Speke’s Big Bog Brewery.

A proper Summer session beer, light, crisp and refreshing.

Looks like Big Bog where one of the only breweries ready with real ale for when the pubs opened !
Citra hops are usually the most "pleasant" for a lot of people. Really nice feel from them.

*edit* the crazy thing is "session" beers. That's a PERFECT session beer alcohol %. Here in the States I've seen sessions at 5.7%. That's not a fn session, that's a straight up IPA.

Amarillo imperial IPA by de molen brewery probably the best beer I’ve had during Covid so far. As well as Rothaus Tannenzaepfle which is a beautiful pils from the Black Forest.

De Molen are a top top brewery. Some of their Imperial Stouts are mind blowing. It was about this time last year :( that I was stood at the expo in town getting sausaged on two they had on, one being like terrys chocolate orange.

This is a couple of months past its BBE, oops!

Bottles an absolute work of art. Don't even remember buying this and I think I was expecting a porter just due to it having Baltic in the title lol Nice beer, very sharp and tangy in the sour style, slight saltiness, sort of like sourdough bread actually, but with a candy IPA sweet strength hit underneath. A strange one but quality beer.

I haven't used but a mate who lives in the States has mentioned these before.

The price of the below makes me want to cry (about half what you'd pay here)

@Billy Dean sorry mate point the above at you. Might be no use but worth a try.

The other thing to consider is buying directly from one of the many wonderful American craft brewers and getting them delivered that way, there are so many greats to choose from.

I don't think it's possible to buy from the US, or it ends up being very expensive through customs. Unless you do it on the grey market/traders

Tbh, these days I think the UK holds up very well
Especially with pales. A bit behind with proper sours and non pastry stouts but only as there is less a range. The quality is still there
