This one's at La Buvette, spilling out onto the street from a cave style bar that's covered in decades of stickers.
agree m8 , it's very tempting but good for special occasions.Partly what attracted to me to the craft IPA scene was the higher alcohol content without sacrificing taste. The stronger ones often taste better to me. I'd drink the equivalent of 2.5 pints but feel like I've had 4 or 5 of a lager equivalent.
You can get 24 of Camden's Off Menu IPA (5.8%) for £31 on Amazon, which I'm tempted by. I'm not a fan of buying alcohol in bulk as it just increases the rate in which I drink it.
Yep some really good IPAs, I've noted some from a Glasgow Brewery and theyre really good quality. You can still get reasonably priced cases ( 12 bottles ) from the likes of Brimstage ( Wirral ) and Purple Moose ( N Wales ).
Craft ale is always more expensive, as it`s " trendy ", there`s loads of reasonably priced " real " IPA`s on the market.
The little tap room and old bank ale house are okGoing to Aigburth tomorrow, any decent pubs round and about ?
OK ? Not exactly a ringing endorsement. lolThe little tap room and old bank ale house are ok
How about they were both “decent” on the one occasion I went in ? Not my neck of the woods, I was going to watch South Liverpool FC.OK ? Not exactly a ringing endorsement. lol
Had a look at the The Little Tap Room's Facebook page ; seems they sell a preponderance of IPAs and pale ales - not really to my taste. How about they were both “decent” on the one occasion I went in ? Not my neck of the woods, I was going to watch South Liverpool FC.
Nice! Always remember one of my first nights living in Germany. That bottle reminds me. One of the German university students told me “l am going to teach you the most important word in German: ungespundet—-unfiltered”

On the other hand, the Old Bank House looks much more promising.
Anybody else have any recommendations ?

Never been, from what I've heard, more expensive ?It’s a bit of a pub desert around there tbh.
Lark Lane a bit further up is a better bet, with much more choice
