Beer, revisited

Adnams' Ghost Ship, as good as I remember, and a few of :

Never had this brewer's beers before, although only 3.7%, it was so tasty. Strong beers are all well and good but it's the quality and taste for me. I tried their stout (5.2%), but wasn't overly impressed, a bit insipid for a stout for my taste. Nonetheless, a brewery to look out for.

Also picked up the Wirrale Drinker, the local Camra publication, which has lots of interesting info, but I can't be arsed to tell you, maybe later. :pint2:

Managed to buy a load of cheap blackberries, so blackberry gin in three months it is.

I’m on my last “sample” at the Ship&Mitre beer festival at Hulme Hall , IIRC @Exeter_Gently is here today, been some good stuff.
Cracking day that yesterday, over indulged slightly I've got abit of a head on me today.

Stuck to low 3.5 / 4% Goldens and Pales...also had a lovely Grapefruit and Mandarin Radler from Campervan brewery.

Ended up back in Rigbys and finished in the Uni curry house on Hardman St.

Successful day on the whole.

Throw in some footy and that pretty much sounds like the perfect day.

I haven't personally, although a friend did on Friday evening. He said it was okay - an improvement on the past.

I didn't get much more out of him because he'd had about thirteen pints that evening.

The beer was consistently dreadful, a bit like the Cambridge.

Hopefully the new owners have pulled their socks up, as there`s a lot of competition around there now.

The demographic will be mixed going forward,Students aren't gonna pay the best part of a Fiver for a pint so it probably won't be as busy with them as you think.

It was a pretty mixed bag when I went, check out The Mayflower above mate had nice pint of Cheshire cat in there👍
Maybe, tbf I rarely went in there in it's previous incarnation, sometimes you just like a pub, and vice versa - anyway, I don't like change !
