Bellew-Haye

Is it true that Haye took all six rounds before he picked up an ankle injury?

Just read that elsewhere and someone posted the scorecard to back it up.
Doesn't really matter tho Dave as it didn't go to the scorecards. I think Tony had the same mentality he did when he fought at Goodison, nothing was going to stop him, injury or not.

Again he wouldn't have needed to - his corner could have 'pulled him out' with a sly nod if he needed to, and didn't until the 11th

It's an absolute myth to say he faked it. Just look at the stills from when his ankle goes over.

Seen them mate. Not having it.

Haye has form for feigning injury, over and over and over. He soon found out he wasnt going to knock Bellew out and resorted to plan B.

Any reason he would have picked the part of the fight that he was ahead on all cards then mate?

At least 3-2, possibly even 4-1? Even Bellew sees the ankle go and makes a face at him.

What you're saying doesn't make sense.

I'm not disputing he got injured, he just laid it on thick. He gave him his best shots and Bellew didn't blink, by round 6 he was blowing - with that mass it was to be expected, he knew he didn't stand a chance in the later rounds.

As for Whyte or Chisora? They are both actual heavyweights mate - and not a chance with Joshua. Why bother fighting actual heavyweight big hitters when he can fight a chubbed up cruiser again for the same payday?

If you're on about Haye, he's already beaten Chisora. It was the 'chubbed up cruiser' that he couldn't beat.

He got injured, then got beat by, in his own words, the better boxer. There's no acting, no long game, no conspiraceeeee , that's how it played out.

You're absolutely right. He's never acted injured to put a fight off. It just simply wouldn't happen. Haye is widely renowned in boxing circles as being full of ****.

Or it does happen, it just didn't happen 'this time' because he's a Scouser and an Evertonian?

Was it Hayes knee or his heel? Bellew ain't getting the credit for surviving the tough rounds. You could see Haye was gassed mid way through the fourth.

Haye looked knackered in the open work outs after been on the pads after 5 minutes.

This isn't true either; apart from a lamentable homophobic from uberbantzmeister Tyson Fury last night, he was roundly lauded for sticking it out. The only people accusing him of play-acting tend to be the ones who don't understand the sport. He'd been stopped once in his career before last night.

It's great twitter chat with the lads here mate but it's nonsense. He was clearly injured, got repeatedly tagged from the end of the 6th onwards, hung on very gamely then got stopped. That's the sum of it.

Achilles mate. Punched himself out early on. He knew he had no chance when the fight went on.

I've been around boxing most of my life mate, my eldest brother is a boxing coach.

Have a look through boxing forums what they think of David Haye. Don't get me wrong all boxers feign injury to pick and choose opponents, even Wladimir Klitschko does it.

What people ain't saying is...how fast bellews reflexs were in the first few rounds. We all know what Hayes plan was but nobody was expecting Bellew to be so quick.

Bellew shown he does have the skills. Imagine what he could do if he kept his head all the time. I hope Tony finds Hayes mate Joe Fournier and gives him a slap.

Eddie Hearn on twitter

For those asking, as per the BBBofC judges scorecards at time of stoppage were 96-93,96-93,96-93 Bellew #BellewHaye

So lazy this mate. One it's irrefutable in the sense I've never met you so maybe he is. But Aldo the Meff has been around football all his life too and I wouldn't trust his opinion on it either.

The simple fact of it is, Haye didn't over play the injury last night, it happened, then he got beat (he looked tired at the end of the sixth and seventh because, er, he'd taken 4 minutes of sustained punching, rather takes the wind out of you). No cowardice on this occasion, just the way it happened.
