Godfrey looking like another great signing, his ability to play at a high level out of position has been key. With Keane in form, Mina returning to form, and the amazing form Holgate has been in prior to injury, I do feel really good about our CB position(including Branthwaite) for some time to come.

I reckon if I went back 30 odd pages I would be able to find some comedy gold and a lot of backpeddelers.

They're all there.

Those who believe that if they personally lack knowledge about a player it's because the player is no good.

Those who believe a relegated side can't contain a good player and don't understand how defending is a team thing and not down to the back 4 only.

Those who make up transfer values and availability in their head and therefore know who we should have been signing instead of Godfrey and how that transfer would definitely have gone through.

Those who thought we had plenty of depth in defence despite the fact that Digne was playing at CB in the League Cup and Braithwaite was injured. Ben Gibson, who couldn't get a game in a woeful Reading side, was also proof that we had sufficient cover and therefore Godfrey was a wasteful signing.

Those who thought that because Godfrey hadn't started and starred in the games immediately after his signing he was a flop.

Definitely centre back is an area we seemed to be well covered for ,and at left back we seem to be covered going forward with younger players that seem to have all the attributes needed for the modern left back role
