This lad knows the score.

Love his passion.

A huge win for these players. You can see them grow under Fantastico. Which they must - or they'll be out. He's a nice man, Carlo but, like all managerial greats, he's ruthless. He won't be brutal to any of them, he will simply boil them like frogs. Very slowly, without them even knowing it. A gent.

Just get the feeling he’s off of a really good core forming. One of those signings that you don’t realise at the time was actually a keystone of future success. Seeing him Holgate DCL Richy Docuoure Mina all celebrating goals and wins we’ve suddenly got a very big powerful team when they all play.

Probably the first time since the 90s I looked at us and we were just bigger and stronger than them. It wasnt the perfect game from us, but it was enough.

Aarons has a good attitude, much like Godfrey but Ben certainly expresses his desire to win with more vigour. I guess that is something he has probably always had but I first noticed it when he was on loan at Shrewsbury.

Aarons will step up but I believe he has been an even better player this season albeit in the Championship. Whether it was intentional, he has played a lot of minutes of competitive football - much better than challenging for a position and sitting on the bench at a higher level. The speculation over his future hasn’t affected his game. A lot to be said for that.

He would be a worthy addition to any top team.

The tackle on Shakira - Christ, it's like the footage has been doctored he moves that quickly to nail him, it's like the feckin matrix!

Aside from how well he's done since signing, I absolutely love his attitude, enthusiasm and will to win - he gets Everton.

With a bit of luck and his continued hard work, the lad could end up Carlo's Everton's version of Maldini or Nesta, I think he's that good.

A few posters have wondered why Aarons goals/assists are quite low...

Any thoughts on that? Seems strange for an attacking right back...

Godfrey is incredible...i think everyone (apart from @Neiler ) is shocked at just how good he is :o

Will start next season as our first choice CB alongside Keane. He has the pace we need at the back. I was unsure when we signed him but he has been very good whenever and wherever he has been asked to play. Just needs to start chipping in with a couple of goals and he's complete.

You’re right in saying his statistics appear weak but better judges than me seem to rate him as a player by looking beyond the figures.

If you try and compare him with other attack minded full backs I think there are several factors which may have an adverse impact on his numbers.

It is rare for him to take any corners or free kicks, certainly not around the eighteen yard box. He only made his debut in late 2018 and as a young player was initially more conservative in his approach and may be still is at times - this is particularly of relevance when he links with Buendia who takes responsibility for creating chances and providing assists (he has probably created as many chances in the past three seasons as any player in Europe). He obviously played in a flat back four of a struggling side last season in the Premiership - I have little doubt if he played as a wing back in a team with three in the centre of defence his figures would be better. Also, he doesn’t seem to have a lot of luck in front of goal but for a defender seems to fire in plenty of shots, albeit from distance.

Having said that, yes his attacking end product could be, and will get, better.

Love it. Love everything about it.

Thing is, as well, people will love it - and rightly so - because they see it as a passionate bit of defending in a local derby, but purely and simply the speed with which he a) senses the danger, and b) gets out to meet it as well as executing a perfect - when he could easily have gone in reckless - tackle is immense.

He's already taken the mantle from Cahill as my biggest player crush since Kanchelskis. Proper love him, me.
