2020/21 Ben Godfrey

The centre backs didn’t get enough protection from the midfield especially in the first 20 minutes & then late in the game when we were chasing. Seems like we are missing Doucure big time & that’s not good going into the City game.

...I thought most accept that Keane has been playing well. I’m not Keane’s biggest fan but I think he’s had a terrific season.

Saying that, he struggled today with Vydra‘s pace and cleverness. It’s not a matter of Godfrey v Keane, it’s a matter of the best partnership. I think Godfrey has to start but I wouldn’t die in a ditch over who partners him. I’d say Keane deserves it on his form this season but I do prefer Mina if I’m honest.

I felt Keane was out of sorts today,I would keep Godfrey at CH,then as you say its a case of who is in there with him

Yeah one of those blocks was brilliant, but for both Burnley goals he made no effort to get out to close down. The first one he was stood right in Pickfords line of sight as well.

LOL. Alan missed the tackle, Godfrey was the next man, not his fault. Also, the art of blocking involves being in the way of the ball and the goal, typically, the keeper will be unsighted by the blocking player.

Like I said I would have him plus A.N.Other be that Keane or Mina,I think Keane has been playing well but he had an off day I thought,plus I dont think they were really lumping the ball forward today most of the chances they were creating was around the semi circle

Got to be Mina and Keane. Mina and Keane can play a ball out whereas Godfrey struggles. Godfrey to right back for me and keep him there once Mina is back
