Ward Prowse may make sense if he wants a final look at him before bringing him into the squad.

What makes zero sense is playing Godfrey next to White. Only one can go so its not like he can even see how they do as a RB/CB partnership.

Interestingly (for me at least) both can play either position and interchange...

It would make sense to try them a couple of games ago...or even after the tournament...but why before when you can only bring one...

Giving players minutes with view to the next round of qualifiers in September. He already knows what to expect from his core group, Rashford, Mings, Grealish and Sancho will all be close to if not in the main line up next Sunday

White, Ward Prowse and Godfrey i think are the only ones in the team not in the full squad.

To me it seems strange to play them rather than the actual team youre going to go with.

The issue is that none of them have really played together, probably twice tops. Then theyre expected to enter a tournament and click.

When you look at France, Belgium, Italy...pretty much you know the starting 11 or at least most of the names that are guaranteed.

We have one. That's Kane. Everyone else is up in the air in each position.
