He would be absolutely appalling in centre mid. Leighton Baines, for years our most technically gifted player, best passer and best dribbler struggled to play there because it is a specialist position, taking the ball with players behind you, knowing when to pass back and when to turn and when to run forward etc. and generally where to be positionally takes years and years of training. Godfrey can sprint quickly. That’s all he has. He isn’t even good enough on the ball to play fullback or centre back let alone centre mid.

Gets done one on one. Shows the outside but it's too easy for the player to cut inside and shoot. And he's backing away so much (Patterson does the same, to be fair). Contrast with Myko, who pretty much shuts everything down.

We need to play an actual right back at right back next week. Full backs need to contribute to attacks as well as defend.
