if you are going to act high and mighty about a Kopite getting some abuse, you are going to be called out on it when you have done the same towards our current manager.

Alas I am neither. Actually I'm very happy being brutally honest about all players and managers and the odd harsh word never hurt nobody. It's the hypocrisy when some squeel after their fan boy favourite gets called out.

Since the mid 80s we've had a handful of players fit to wear the shirt. Likewise to.manage us. Benitez, Fat Sam.should never have come into the mix. I also include Dyche in that.

He was brought in to win them a league title and ultimately left them further away than ever. That lot seemed to blame absolutely everything on Hick and Gilette though. As bad as they were (Moshiri levels) it wasn't them that bought the likes of Crouch, Pennant, Keane, Aurelio, Luis Garcia, Voronin, Leiva, etc (I could keep going!).

Not all of them were terrible players in their primes, but absolutely none of them were title-winning level or anywhere close.

He absolutely fluked two cups (especially that CL in '05) and it caused his reign there to be judged as far more successful than it really was. He did catastrophic damage to their famed academy and ended up running off every star player except Gerrard, Carragher and crocked Torres.

Benitez is criminally overrated and the fact no club he's previously managed 'cept the barcodes (least before they actually saw what having a good team is like now under Howe) has ever wanted him to come back tells you everything.
