Thing is mate . Outside of everton fans very few people watch every minute of our games. I'd value the opinion of those who do over those who dont

While that is true we are also inherently biased. It's like asking a parent if their kid is playing well.

Only when we are playing poorly. Seriously try and find criticism of any of the main XI from that last 10 games of the season. It's nearly impossible except for maybe DCL because he still didn't score much. But compared to after we lose games it isn't even close. Honestly we are badly fair weather.

Players only get stick when they play poorly. Probably a concept that is relative to every sports team in the universe .
And a fan who travels home and away to every game is not fair weather. Its their opinions I would value more then anyone else when it comes to our players .

Here's the thing: outside of the Everton support there isn't anyone talking about how great Bernard is. It's the same as when everyone was shocked to see people criticize the Gomes signing. Outside of Everton Gomes is average and those people might not be wrong if he doesn't show more this year. Same situation with Bernard.

Ultimately most football fans know nothing about football and adopt what talkshite / sky sports tells them.
Even relatively knowledgable football fans only watch highlights or catch them a couple of times a season when they play their club and the odd live game on tv.
Bernard and Gomes haven’t been in the goals enough to catch the eye of non evertonians.

Nah I mean with the players we are fair weather. Ross is everyone's favorite when he plays well and then the next week people are all over him because he misplaces a couple passes. It was the same with Rom. Richarlison even had a bit of it this year. Keane is another. Gylfi, Coleman, Pickford too. It isn't about getting on them when they play bad but proper dislike with our fans. They want them completely out of the club after two bad weeks. It is a bit much.

Because we played well the last ten games. As I said before the only people who are getting any real criticism around here after the way the year ended are DCL because he doesn't score still and the guys like Tosun who didn't feature much. And I don't want Bernard out. I just don't want him starting every game. He's actually an effective option against powerful attacking teams.

What are you basing this on? One internet forum?

Main strikers job is to score the majority of goals.........DCL doesn't. Bernard isn't expected to.

In Bernard’s role he is expected to score and create more than he does. I like Bernard and he does contribute positively to the team in general but when you look at Mané, Salah, Sterling, Sane and Hazard getting 20 odd goals each often from wide positions then it’s hard to be completely content with 1 goal from Bernard.

I don't know why sitting closer means anything but that's fine. I'm done with this until we actually play games again. Let's hope Bernard and the rest improve and we go right up the league.
