Mina clearly offers more than Bernard. Giroud wouldn't have dominated Mina like he did Keane.

Anyway glad to see people coming around on this one. You can like watching him all you want, but we are going nowhere if he's our best option on the wings.

That’s as may be, Ig.

But at this moment in time he remains our best option wide left yet Gylfi sodding Iceland is starting every game in that position.

It doesn’t make sense.

The Gylfi thing is beyond comprehension.

I pray we use these last games as a trial period when we are out of the European race. It should give us a chance to try out a bunch of players, formations, combinations and so on in live game settings. It could be invaluable for building toward next season.

Very interesting to see Ancelotti comment that Bernard is only good at home when were on top.

Also interesting to see Iwobi getting very limited game time...it may be that hes just being eased in after his injury...but it doesnt seem that others are eased in e.g Walcott.

I dont think Ancelotti fancies any of them...cant fathom how Sigurdsson is starting

Plays between the lines, problem was against Chelsea there were none. If we are getting overwhelmed he'll be anonymous.

How many `tiny' weak framed players have excelled in the Prem?? Zola.
The moment I first saw Bernard I thought aye aye' this will be interesting away from home. Sure enough he has never lifted a leg when the pressure is on, the crowd are against, the home team is getting stuck in and attacking. Its one of the clear reasons why Brands doesnt know what he is doing. Investing massive wages in a player quite clearly not up to the demands of this unforgiving league.

Osman. Coutinho. Juninho. Pedro. Arron Lennon.

All small. All capable premiership players with weak frames.

Apart from the ones listed by other posters: Pedro and David “one of the best PL midfielders ever” Silva.

Well fans often like and rate players but it's not always based on the players actual football ability. Sometimes they buy into his personality, point is it's not exclusive to Bernard
It’s just such a strange comparison though. While certainly one could argue the love for Bernard hasn’t been justified by his end product thus far, Mina in general has been pretty good for us this season.

Your boy can’t get on the pitch for Leipzig or Everton, yet you’ll make every excuse under the sun for him???
Lookman and Bernard can both be average at best footballers at the same time. It really doesn't change the fact that Lookman should have gotten a few games at the end of last year just like Gordon probably should this time around. They might be the future. Bernard isn't.
