Have a lot of sympathy with him over the panic attacks. They are so debilitating. I can imagine it took something out of him as a player having to deal with it.

It was panic attacks he was having? Very tough to get through but also usually very surmountable (pretty quickly) with the right help. He's probably unfortunate to be working in the field he is, because it's likely he'd have been directed towards coaches/psychologists with performance driven motives. That wouldn't be ideal in a situation like that, despite best intentions.

Either way, glad he's gotten the move he has. He'll be paid handsomely and should be able to boss things over there. Good luck to the fella.

I miss him already and I'm sure all the players will too. Great lad and loved seeing the smile on his face in all the BTS training clips. I used to enjoy them more than the footie if I'm honest.

You stopped going in 1987.... And we champions then, imagine the moaning now haha. Bernard just wasn't cut out for this league, seemed a likable lad, but I wouldn't dream of slagging any of our players.

Yeah. I went from the late 70s until 87. We were a mid table team for the most part and ground was usually half full for most games. But it was great fun and we had a crack. Winning was a bonus.

Expectations changed I supposed and the moaning gradually crept in.

See I don't get the drain on resources thing really. He's cost the club £18m over 3 years. I can think of at least 10 recent purchases, probably a lot more if I gave it some thought, whose transfer fee alone cost more than that, and who offered less in football terms than Bernie did. Some we also paid silly wages too on top.

If you look at all of the players purchased for the first team since Mosh took over, the annualised cost of all players would probably see Bernard in the bottom quartile.
