From the ones I have visited, Cape Town is pretty ace. And Edinburgh.

The most surprising was Ibiza Town. Utterly brilliant place, but that was 20 years ago, might be cack now.

Chicago, great vibe, great food, great architecture, great music , great people
Vienna too, culturally amazing and something wonderful aroung every corner. Was my favourite city until I visited Chicago!

Luang Prabang is my favourite. Utterly tranquil bit of Laos situated on a lazy meander of the Mekong where it meets the Nam Khan river surrounded by hills and jungle. nice food and beer, friendly locals. Small enough to walk round in an afternoon.

Never spent more than 7 days in anywhere i haven't lived... based on just short trips I'd have to go Rome.
