Jubbly - okay, it was only flavoured ice in a strangely shaped packing but remember getting them on hot Summers evenings at the little kiosk next to the railway station at the bottom of Hornby Road and Rice Lane/Walton Road.
Can also recall as kids asking the ice cream salesman for a block of dried ice - ice cream vans didn't have electric coolers back in the 60's - and then putting it down the nearest drain where it would explode once it hit the water. Einstein had nowt on us boys!

Now we’re talking use to get them from the chippy on finch lane/ princess drive.
The ice cream we use to get of a van called Critchley’s when we were kids was the best, not tasted anything better in all the years since.

I do indeed (Though forgot about them until you posted it).
They were a bit of a head wrecker though, they look like they should taste fruity but they are toffee.
I always remember the bottom of them falling to bits.
