Very true as George Carlin said humans in groups are scum. People's beliefs religious or political are rarely well thought out and are just beliefs adopted to fit in. It's like Croats, Bosnians and Serbs speak the same language, eat the same food, but nationalists in all 3 groups will pretend they are completely different. It's like Liverpool fans, I've known RS who are the soundest people you can meet, until you bring up their team. Narcissism of small difference is amplified by social media, add to that helicopter parenting, people especially young people only speaking to those with similar opinions. It adds to people's sense that a anyone who disagrees with you on anything is stupid or evil. Just look at Claude from AFTV, he wanted what was best for Arsenal and thought Wenger leaving would be that and received constant abuse, which led to his early death. Ordinary people becoming celebrities leads to all sorts of problems, I don't think social media has been good for society.

I don't think social media has been good for society.

Oh I dunno. Before social media I used to think humans were smart, caring, thoughtful and like minded, on the whole.

Now I've learned how wrong I was and how important it is to keep them at a distance.

Now I've learned how wrong I was and how important it is to keep them at a distance.

I think we all have bad days, before people would go home watch TV, maybe argue with their spouse or family, then forget about it. Like that divvy a few years ago who was insulting a boxer, yet melted when he turned up on his doorstep. I nearly got stabbed over a case of mistaken identity, cos someone was insulting someone on social media. If you were baiting and winding someone up out there you'd just get smacked.
