Best Dutch player of my lifetime, by miles. Have to admit though, I didn't see much of Johan Cruijff.

Well I saw a lot of him and Neeskens on TV & video, Bergkamp would not have looked out of place next to those two.

Yeah alright did watch some vids of them, but Bergkamp was the only one I follow throughout his whole career. Absolutely marvellous player.

Brilliant, outstanding players as well, specially Marco van Basten - but as his career was cut short it's hard to compare with the others mentioned.

Ruud Gullit was a great player, but not as good as Dennis Bergkamp. He was was much more about power, stong engine and stamina. Marco van Basten, without doubt the best out and out striker Holland has ever had, Bergkamp however much more the complete footballer.

Wow mate, im shocked Bergkanp was good but Gullit was the best player on the planet at a certain stage - the man could play anywhere upfornt Centre Midfeild out on the wings in defence he was a colosuss!

Bergkamp wasnt in the same league for me.

Just kidding, let's just agree to disagree on this one. Bergkamp for me is the best Dutch player of my lifetime.

Dunno, Neiler, Ruud was awesome on his day. But his day didn't come around too frequently outside of 1987 - 1989. Thereafter a string of injuries, hissy fits and disagreemenst with national coaches blighted the remainder of his career. I recall him being subbed off several times in his last couple of seasons at Milan, not due to injury but because he stopped running / trying. And he was only around 30 at the time.

Whereas Bergkamp did it consistently over his whole career.
