Best pound for pound boxer of all time

How the hell has no one mentioned Ali ?

Ali was, in my book, the best heavy ever bar none, including Marciano but when a pro he only fought at one weight, the smaller guys went up and down divisons which is so much harder. If it went to the popularist vote he'd win everytime no doubt. What we are talking about is full career, even an unbeaten record doesn't make you the best of all time if it did then Marciano would win.

Lennox Lewis is a far better heavy than most would give him credit for

Might sound controversial but Prince Nassem Hamed at the top of his game was superb. He sparred with heavy weights and was well known for his awesome power. He met Barrera too late in his career to really show what he could do, pity really...

i always thought naz avoided some of the bigger names, when it finally came to the crunch he was found out. knocking bums over is no big deal, boxers are held in high esteem based on who else they have fought, in ali's case it was frazier and foreman, benn fought eubank, watson and mclellan.

anyone heard anything from david haye? that lad has potential.

Indeed

In fact, i have overlooked the real best once again, we will never really know who the best boxers would have been because castro doesnt let them turn pro.

imagine australian cricket improved ten fold, and then having them anhilate any opposition in the world, that is the comparrison i make when considering cuban boxing.

the most olympic champions, the most amateur world champions.

Very true, unbelievable talent over here. Its always good to have a look in the local boxing clubs and I will catch more tournaments when I move to the east of the island this week. I'm going to join up with one of the local clubs for the training, no sparring or [Poor language removed] as I would get murdered. Some seriously good talent here.

Chico, Telefilio Stevenson, I bet he's a god over there. In his prime he was the only boxer in the world who could have rivalled Ali, as an amatuer he was unbelievable, never took the dollar though, stayed true to his roots:)

If Im right he still has a gym in Havana, although he originated from Holguin (where I move to this week). From those that knew him, and plenty did, they say he is a gentleman.

If I can confirm the above I will at some point pay a visit to this gym and get some photos for you, my Grandad would be interested too. As his Grandson wasnt very good at boxing, in retrospect.

I'm not a big boxing fan but the only fighter I ever paid money to watch on PPV was Mike Tyson.

In his prime, the guy was downright scary.
