In some of the places I move between there are places where you exercise more caution, but its the same/worse back home to be honest.

I'll get my wallet out in public but I wouldn't be waving wads of dollars about.

But its dependent, I've travelled in some very safe places in the world (Greece & Cuba for example) and some not.

You're going to get hustled in most places being a gringo but being a bit savvy is easy enough.

For me, the best thing about GrandOldTeam is that it gives Evertonians across the world a platform.

If this place closed tomorrow it wouldn't really have an impact on me, apart from my bank balance looking a tad healthier - but there are fans out there, particularly those who live abroad who have told me that they get a great deal from the site.

But above all, this will always make the site worthwhile;

Absolutely correct, a site you can visit and give an opinion without getting slaughtered, always a good atmosphere on the site and have a look most days even if I don't post too often.

The main things which have meant I spend more time here than other places recently.
1. I got involved with other Bris-vegas Evertonians through here and we ended up putting a team together that won the Brisbane Indoor Premiership and cup last season. GOT is partly responsible for the lads and me (some ex-pros and semi-pros involved) ripping the hole out of teams of kopites and Chavs every week.
2. The way other fans are treated (in the main) if they stick to the rules. Neville obviously, Hullcity and even Danny Vermin. I'd be very happy if we can keep attracting quality posters from other teams to pop in and have a chat when their team are next up.
3. When the toys go everywhere, sorry but it's funny.

I'm not going to mention the Everton fans on here. Like Everton fans everywhere we don't need to tell everyone we're the best.

We just know.

Said it many times before, but GOT is different to any other Everton or non Everton forum on the web. The place is quite frankly unique, one of a kind. The friendlieness, humour and banter on here is unrivaled by any other internet forum I've been on in the past. Lots of other forums just seem to enjoy getting into a ****ging match, were as on here it in 99,9% of all cases stays well within the civil rules.

Also as Chico mentioned earlier, the constantly going off topic in threads and ending up lightyears away of the original subject discussed (mostly within the first five posts), makes me very happy to be a part of this place.

Onwards and upwards GOT.

Many of us were from toffeeweb forum and that was 6yrs ago?
I've never been to other forums and I don't see a need to. I can find anything and everything here. Enough for me to call this place home for the rest of my life, and for my children as well once they figure out how to read and write properly.
This places is flooded with so many intelligent individual and it's a great learning experience for someone as shallow as I am.
