2024/25 Beto

If you rated Dyche, then good on you.

I thought he was a horrific manager who ruined every player he touched, including Beto.
I don't think Dyche was playing striker and missing one-on-ones.

He's to blame for not picking Beto when our other strikers were not performing. His stubbornness to persist through double figure scoreless runs from our strikers was horrible and drained confidence from the entire squad.

Hard to believe we can win when the fella we rely on to score can't hit a barn door with a banjo for spans of months at a time.

Ive said I will judge every player fairly under Moyes, I only ask that you attempt the same, if you cant, thats fine.

With any luck DCL moves on in the Summer and we replace him or hell, even Beto is it, but for now, well done Beto, great goals, great CF play, keep it up big man.

It's just a very tiresome excuse for a player and it only goes so far.

Dyche wasn't taking the shots for other players that they were skying or placing wide.

Nobody ever mentions the other two managers he also didn't score goals under after or the other ones before the single manager he did.

After four seasons of that it's nice to finally have a striker scoring goals again.

Under Dyche we created very little, sure, DCL missed chances, but so did Beto, it was just that Beto didnt play as much.

I have said, time and time again, since Carlo, we have had the worst managers in our history.

Now we dont, so im judging ALL players under the new Manager.

So far ALL have improved, the team scores goals, is it ALL just the manager? Of course not, these players clearly had talent, it was just being stifled, so if DCL comes back and hes still pants, then I will call it.

It bores me, the amount of times I have read DCLs name since yesterday, I have the DCL thread on ignore cos its boring, so I come to the Beto thread and its pages and pages of "DCL wouldnt score that, DCL cant do that", its a me problem and the easy solution is to just add the bores to ignore, but I like some of them.

Anyway, low hanging fruit.

The real Beto has stood up and I for 1 am ready to pray at his altar.

Broja can’t stay fit but I could see there was a player there. It took 3 minutes to see it and 30 minutes to know it wasn’t a fluke.

Beto hasn’t had a fair run of games but in the time he has had I don’t see that there is a player there.

I cannot think we risk finishing the season with Beto as the only viable option. I think that’s madness.
Glad I was wrong.

Great movement, great finish and that was his very first goal and appearance. Yes, it was a league two side, but the signs were there for those willing to open their eyes and witness.

The goals he scored recently look exactly like that one. He always had it, he just didn't get the opportunities because someone played favourites with an out of form striker.

I always tell everyone to watch his first goal. It was such a good finish and he makes it look so simple. There were signs from the start of his ability in the box.

And no way in hell you let Beto go now. Odds of us finding a striker doing what he is doing for a reasonable price tag is next to nil. He may have a slump here and there, but he has shown massive improvement with just a few games in the starting lineup and he has answered quite a few questions. Nobody thought he would progress this quickly. You take the chance on him. You don't bite the hand that feeds you.

To think of all those times Keane was out performed and our horrible goal differential because of him and Dyche while Jake O’Brien sat on the bench is tough to forgive. Moyes instantly corrected that.

I don't blame Keane for all of that, but to sit O'Brien after paying 16-20 mil on him was madness. He very clearly should have been playing. Dyche got himself fired.
