I just hated the negativity that surrounded Beto. So much of it was hilariously unfair.

I've always liked the lad and thought he would be a 10 goal a season striker if he started games, I don't really enjoy seeing anyones focus on Beto's success be to slaughter DCL who I also like. It's a shame and a sorry statement for those fans.

Its crazy, he scored today, I had a massive smile on my face, I sang his name, I clapped him off at the end of the game, I came in after the game and praised his goal, his first half performance, but im "seething".

Which is true I suppose, cos that game was anger inducing.

But I got Beto wrong.

I thought he was an awful player, sure, there were a few things he did well and he was feeding on scraps, so I called him rubbish, thats on me.

As soon as he wasnt rubbish, which was around the time that Moyes came in, I admitted my mistake and said I would back him fully.

But again, I got him wrong and for that I can only say sorry and assure you that it WILL happen again.

He put a lot of hard work today - puffing at the end, the young CF should have come on - not the OAP's first substitute we made - It's as if it's a law to play him as first substitute - TBH almost won us a pen - but you can't beat a poor referee booked 5 of our players & changed his mind on that pen in a definite shirt pull - Beto keeps on scoring unbeaten - plus I had to get involved with a broken washing machine doh ..... missed our 2nd goal - seen it later ....
We are always doomed with that referee.....
